世界最大のデータサイエンティストコミュニティ・Kaggleで開催された「Mercari Prize: Price Suggestion Challenge」のクロージングイベントを開催致します！ このコンペティションではフリマアプリ「メルカリ」での出品時の価格査定機能「Mercari Suggestion Price」のアルゴリズム改善をテーマとして、おかげさまで世界各国から2,384チームにご参加頂きました。

今回のイベントでは上位に輝いたチームとしてロシア、中国、ポーランドの三ヶ国から来日してもらい、コンペティションの感想や手法について紹介してもらうパネルディスカッションを実施致します。 モデレーターは弊社の機械学習スペシャリストであり出題者の一人でもあるHao Zhangと、同じく弊社の機械学習チームでマネジャーを務める木村俊也とメンバーの上田隼也( @hurutoriya )が行います。 また、国内参加者の中で上位入賞された三名もお招きし、Kaggleに挑戦する中で得られたことや困難だったことなど、コンペディション参加者ならではのより具体的なお話をお聞きしたいと考えております。

We’ll soon be holding a closing ceremony for our “Mercari Prize: Price Suggestion Challenge”, a competition recently hosted on Kaggle–the world's largest data scientist community. The theme for this competition was “Improving the algorithm for Mercari ‘s Price Suggestion feature,” and in total, we had 2384 participants from all over the world.

At this event, we’ll be welcoming the top three participants from Russia, China, and Poland to our offices to share their thoughts on the competition and present the methods they came up with to improve the algorithm. After their respective presentations, there will be a panel discussion between the three of them as well.

Our MCs for the night will be our very own machine learning specialist Hao Zhang, Shunya Ueta, and the manager for the machine learning team here at Mercari, Shunya Kimura. Three high-ranking participants from Japan will also share their experiences participating in the competition as well as the challenges they faced.

This event will be a great opportunity to hear directly from some top Kaggle competitors, so we hope you’ll be able to join us!
